I’ve seen many HP notebook owners looking for ways to speed up their notebooks because HP notebooks slow down just like any other notebook. If your new HP laptop is slow, that’s a cause for concern.
If you are looking for ways to speed up your HP notebook, this guide is for you. In this article I have listed all possible ways to speed up HP laptops with Windows 10 or higher.
So, without further ado, let’s get to work!
How can I speed up the Hplaptop?
Solution 1: Reboot the HPNotebook.
I think you’ve already done it, but if you haven’t tried, you should start.
In most cases, rebooting kills CPU and memory hungry processes, so you can prevent your HP notebook from crashing.
Quickly restart the computer by pressing ALT + F4 on the keyboard and selecting Reboot from the Reboot drop-down list. You can also choose the Exit option and turn on the laptop manually.
Did it work? If your HP notebook is still running slowly, switch to other solutions and try them.
Solution 2: Windows update
You should be surprised that this solution is not appropriate, because Windows updates are considered terrible.
But you’re wrong!
I have an HP 245 G7 laptop with Windows 10 version 1709, it was not good use.
Loading the applications took a lot of time and other basic operations were also very slow. Then I decided to upgrade to the latest version of Windows because I had nothing to lose and the game was worth it.
After the update my laptop will work much better than before. I am now using this laptop to write this article and there are 9 active Chrome tabs with some other necessary operations in the background.
Pretty cool, huh?
How do you update Windows 10?
- Go to the Settings > Updates and Security menu.
- Click on Check for Updates.
- Windows will automatically download and install new updates for you.
If you use Windows 7 or 8, you need to upgrade to Windows 10 because you will miss a lot of features and optimizations.
Solution 3: Programs for closing the system drawer
Most applications continue to run in the background and even after dropping them are not completely closed, but drop into the system tray.
These applications run in the background and often consume system resources, making HP notebooks slow.
You can close these applications by hovering over the top arrow in the taskbar and right-clicking on the current applications. Be careful not to shut down your antivirus program or any other necessary program that you do not need.
Solution 4: Responsible for inspection tasks
The task manager is your friend who introduces you to the people who talk behind your back.
You can see in real time which processes are consuming how many resources, and if you find a suspicious or useless application that is consuming a lot of resources, turn it off.
- Switch to the taskbar by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESC on your keyboard.
- The task manager opens, moves the mouse over the memory and clicks once, the list is displayed in descending order and the process that consumes the most resources is at the top.
- Check the process, do not close it if necessary, otherwise right-click on the process and select a final task.
- The process is now complete and you can update your laptop.
This will certainly help you to find an application that is hungry for RAM and close it down.
Deactivating startup processes
If you’re looking for How to accelerate Slow HP Laptop, you should also look for ways to speed up startup time, right? This can be done via the Task Manager.
- Open the Task Manager.
- Click Start in the menu bar and you will see a list of processes that start as soon as you turn on your laptop.Notebook Computer
- Now click on the status and the list will be organized in such a way that all activated boot processes are displayed first.
- Check the processes and see if they should really work once the laptop is turned on. Most processes are not necessary, so I recommend switching off all processes, except audio processes if necessary.
As a result, you’ll see a significant jump in the boot process and your HP notebook will take less time to boot up.
Solution 5: Upgrade to DSS
SSDs are faster and more powerful than hard drives, you probably already know that. If your HP notebook is slow, even after trying the above solutions, you should seriously upgrade your hardware.
With SSDs, applications can load faster, reduce startup time, increase data transfer speed, and keep costs down.
Finding ways to increase the speed of your HP notebook will not help you if you continue to use your old hardware. The above solutions certainly work, but not on 4 or 5 year old laptops.
Most laptops have an SSD lock. Before you buy one, make sure your laptop has an M2 lock.
Solution 6: RAM Update
If your HP notebook has only 4 GB of RAM, it will probably run slower than when it was new.
Applications starve the memory, especially chromium, which consumes 70% of the memory in only 2 tablets.
If your HP notebook is more than 3 years old and you don’t have the budget to upgrade it, upgrading RAM and SSD will help you a lot and be less expensive than buying a new notebook.
Solution 7: Removing unwanted programs
Installing too many unwanted programs can slow down your HP notebook. It sounds like a myth, but it’s actually the truth. Programs create different processes that continue to work even when the program is not in use.
One example is Command Viewer, which is currently running various processes on my laptop, even though I don’t use it.
These processes consume some of your laptop’s resources, so it is best to remove them when they are no longer useful to you.
HP laptops slow down over time, after all, you’re not the only one facing this problem. Most HP users are looking for a way to speed up their HP laptop because they too are tired of their slow laptop.
The problem may be related to a program that you can fix, but if your laptop is new, it’s time to try all of the above solutions. If none of these things work, contact the service center and explain the problem to the technician.
